Welcome to ChekUp – Digital Care, Personified. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ChekUp website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

By accessing, registering on, or using ChekUp, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. About ChekUp

ChekUp is a digital healthcare access platform that connects users with independent, licensed healthcare professionals for:

• Virtual medical consultations
• Home or office visits (house calls)
• Chronic care management
• Digital prescriptions
• Follow-up monitoring

ChekUp does not provide medical services directly and does not operate as a hospital, clinic, or emergency service.

2. Eligibility

• Users must be 18 years or older to use ChekUp independently
• Minors may only use the Platform with parental or legal guardian consent
• All information provided must be accurate and up to date

3. Nature of the Service

• ChekUp acts solely as a technology intermediary
• Healthcare services are provided by independent licensed practitioners
• Clinical responsibility lies solely with the treating practitioner
• ChekUp does not guarantee outcomes, response times, or availability

5. Account Registration & Security

• You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials
• Notify ChekUp immediately of unauthorized access
• Accounts may be suspended for violations of these Terms

6. Appointments & Consultations

Virtual Consultations

• Subject to practitioner availability
• Require stable internet connectivity

Home or Office Visits

• Availability depends on location and provider acceptance
• Arrival times are estimates only
• Location safety remains the user’s responsibility

7. Payments & Billing

• All fees are shown before confirmation
• Payments are processed through secure third-party providers
• Subscription plans are billed monthly unless stated otherwise

8. Refund & Cancellation Policy

Virtual Consultations

• Cancellations within 24 hours are refundable
• No-shows are non-refundable

Home Visits

• Cancellations within 2 hours may forfeit travel fees
• Dispatched providers are non-refundable

Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days.

9. User Responsibilities

• Provide accurate personal and medical information
• Treat healthcare professionals respectfully
• Do not engage in fraud, abuse, or misuse

10. Privacy & Data Protection

ChekUp processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

11. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and software are owned by or licensed to ChekUp. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

12. Platform Availability

ChekUp does not guarantee uninterrupted service and is not liable for delays or outages beyond its control.

13. Disclaimers

• ChekUp does not replace physical medical examinations
• Technology and connectivity may affect service delivery
• Home visits are subject to safety and security protocols

14. Limitation of Liability

ChekUp is not liable for clinical outcomes or practitioner decisions. Liability is limited to fees paid for the specific service.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify ChekUp against claims arising from misuse or violation of these Terms.

16. Suspension & Termination

ChekUp may suspend or terminate accounts for violations, fraud, or legal requirements.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

18. Changes to These Terms

ChekUp may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
